Fox Hunting

The second Temari stepped through the gates of the Hidden Leaf, she broke away from her siblings to begin her hunt. For the first couple of hours she merely explored the village, taking in the layout and all of the easiest paths while trying to sort out her plan.

She had just under 24 hours to figure out who contained the Nine Tailed Fox before the exam. Any longer than that ran the risk of her not finding out at all until she came across him in the middle of combat. And facing off against someone who was potentially 9 times stronger than Gaara while completely unprepared...

Nope.

That could only end badly for her. Even if she didn't get squashed instantly, she would be stuck in the middle of a battle between two demons. There was only one possible outcome there.

Finding out who it was so she could plan things out was the only option here. But how could she figure it out, it wasn't like strangers visiting the Hidden Sand could figure out what Gaara was just by looking at him. Only the people in the village...had...any idea...

Idea.

Temari allowed a vapid smile onto her face and entered the nearest shop that she saw. A little old woman manned the counter and smiled at her as she came in.

"Oh hello dear. Here for the exam are you? Can I get you anything?"
"Weeell." Temari drew out in her best bimbo voice. "I keep getting told that I should avoid someone from this village during the test, but nobody will tell me who it is. How can I avoid them if I don't know who they are? Do you know who they could be talking about?"

Temari had to clamp down her surprise with how quickly the kindly old woman's expression turned dark. It looked like she wanted to eviscerate someone just for a passing mention of the local demon.

"Oh I know who they are talking about. Trust me girl, if there is anyone you want to stay clear of, it's that monster. A girl looking like you do, I can only imagine what he might do."

A cold sliver of fear twisted it's way down Temari's back but still she asked.

"Who is he?"

"What out for the blonde boy in orange girl. Naruto Uzumaki."
