Sends her away

“Fine, you can go now.” The priest told Druuna.
“Pardon me master...” one of the soldiers said as he stood just a few feet behind Druuna, “We’re ready for the transfer…”
Having acknowledged his subordinates words with a nod, the priest turned back to look at Druuna.
“Go away now. What is to happen here is not for the likes of you to see.”
Eager to get away from the sinister robed figure, Druuna turned round and walked away, hearing one of the soldiers say that Sewer number P34 was open, to which the priest replied a “Good, then let it commence.”

Against her better judgement, Druuna was curious, and followed the priest and his men, keeping out of their sight, until she was faced with a ghastly display:
The sick man was hanging from a thick pipe over a large, rectangular hole, which led into the sewers, a place filled with mutants and other horrors.
She could hear the sick man plead for his life, his voice distorted with pain, but the priest had no intentions of showing any mercy.
“Repent yourself man! Repent, before you submerge into hell!”
Two of the soldiers had now untied the noose that held the man hanging, and was lowering him into the pit, while the third one was aiming his gun at the man.
The man disappeared into the hole, the sound of his screams becoming weaker and weaker, until it was hardly noticeable.

“It’s horrible!” Druuna thought as she stood behind a concrete pillar, having watched what had taken placed, fascinated with the cruelty of the priest and the soldiers.
To condemn a sick man to something like that.
“You’re enjoying the show eh? Poor man, he’ll have himself a hell of a time!”
Surprised by the voice coming from behind her, Druuna turned her head back and looked at the one who had spoken.
