Apologize

‘This is just wrong’ you think to yourself.

Underneath the hard exterior, Raven has a soft side she doesn’t show. She made herself **** to you, mentally and physically, so she could tell you something she felt she needed to say.

“I’m sorry Raven.” You say as you turn back around. Until now you hadn’t even realized she had started crying when you turned away from her.

It looks like she may want to say something to you but with the tears and sniffles, it is impossible for her to actually speak. After watching her for a few moments futility try to stop her tears, you decide to keep talking.

“A lot has happen to me today and this wasn’t something I had expected. Still, that doesn’t excuse how rude I was. Being told by someone that they love you is no excuse to run away.”

She’s stopped crying now but her face is still stained with tears. When you sit down next to her and try to dry her face, she begins to cry again but this time even harder then before. When you instinctively put your arm around her, she buries her face into your shoulder and continues to sob.

“Do you really love me?” You ask her after her sobbing quiets down a little. You can feel her nod yes without removing her head from your shoulder.

“Even though we’ve only meet when I first came to the tower a few days ago?” You ask and receive another nod yes.

A few more moments pass with only quiet sobbing before you speak again.

“I don’t deserve it but I hope you can forgive me because I really want to learn more about you. Not just one side of you either, I want to you to tell me all about the tough girl who shrugs off villains and feelings AND the shy girl who wants to tell me how she feels and looks at me with the cutest smile…”

“Stay with me.” Raven blurts out, interrupting you in the middle of a sentence.

“What do you mean?”

“The ‘tough girl’ wants to be mad at you and scream and make you feel as bad as I did when you turned and ran. But the ‘shy girl’ wants you to stay with me tonight. She wants you to hold her close and run your fingers through her hair and listen to her as she tells you things she’s never told anyone else.” Raven explains to you in a soft voice you’ve never heard her use before.

“Which one of you is winning?” You ask, jokingly.

For one of the few times in her life, Raven laughs.

The rest of the night is spent lying awake in Raven’s bed, caressing each other and talking about each others hopes and dreams. Neither of you would have even know it was daytime already if Raven’s alarm hadn’t gone off.

When you reach over and shut off her alarm, Raven looks at you with an expression that lets you know she needs to say something important.
