And don't worry about the bill for this session." Even though you chose the name in a moment of fear and ignorance hearing it sent a warm feeling throughout your body.

You were admittedly lost in thought on your drive home. Thoughts of being kara filled your mind. Tom could pick you up from your dates, your mom fussing over how pretty you looked and your dad giving tom the third degree about how his intentions towards his daughter. Your dad told you once it was fun to scare erin's boyfriends, "one of the perks of being a dad". You wondered would he do the same for you now. Part of you wanted him too. You thought of how tom made you feel either way. If he treated you better one way or the other maybe it would help you know what to do. But if he did then you'd just resent him. You pull into the driveway staring at your home. How would your parents act if they knew? How long could you even hide.

Sighing you finally left your car deciding if you waited longer it might bring up questions you couldn't answer. Once inside you found your mother sitting at the dinner table with kyle. Which you knew from past experiences meant he was in trouble. "What's up?" you ask seeing the troubled look on kyle's face. If someone was bullying him you'd kick his ass!

"Kyle had homework this weekend he didn't tell us about." you tried not to smile at the bit of normalcy in your life. "Apparently he was supposed to write a story about his family." Your blood ran cold. "And he ended up writing a bit of fiction."

"W-what did he say..write...I mean what happened?" it was impossible for you to hide your nervousness.

She handed you a group of papers stapled together. In his story he wrote about his sisters erin and kara. Erin used to be mean until kara showed up and kara really liked going shopping with his sister but karen acted so sad when she was alone. She wanted to be happy she just didn't know how.

Apparently kyle was more observant than you gave him credit for and he would not be able to lie. You would definitely need to talk to him but judging from his face he looked like he had enough lectures for one night. "Well he does have a lively imagination."

"That's what his teachers are concerned about."

"What do you mean?"

"They believe he's depressed and the story is his way of expressing that. So now we have to talk to his teacher tomorrow." Great now you're causing kyle grief. "I'm trying to find out what's wrong but he refuses to talk to me."

"May...maybe I can get it out of him." Your mom stood up and rested her hand on your shoulder. She knew somethings are better left among siblings. You sat down next to him and only one thought came to mind but he beat you to it.

"I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"I promised erin I wouldn't say anything but then Mrs.miller asked for our homework and I got scared cause I forgot." he seemed really distraught over what he had done. He was a sweet boy who never wanted to hurt anyone. You gave him a hug and reassured him it would be okay. You just weren't sure how yet.
