Felicia's heart sank as she heard those words, and in her surprise, she found herself quickly scooped up into Pumpkin's wings. Despite the girl's lack of conventional human hands, Pumpkin was able to fight Felicia's scrambling to get loose. Felicia wasn't too keen on the idea of harming a tenant, but she was a cat being manhandled, and she could only keep her claws sheathed for so long.
"Are you lost, kitty?" Pumpkin asked, apparently oblivious to the distress of the animal in her arms, "I didn't think we could even keep pets in this building." Pumpkin suddenly gasped. "Is one of the other girls keeping you a secret? Ms. Felicia would be so mad if she found out you were in here!"
Pumpkin was right; Ms. Felicia was getting mad, and her mood only soured further as Pumpkin hopped over and dropped her on her bed, before quickly turning back and closing the door. Felicia let out a hiss- blinking a minute, mortified at the noise she had just made- and she could see Pumpkin frown.
"Aw, don't be mad, kitty!" The harpy said. "You just have to stay in here for a little while, until I can find out who your owner is!" Pumpkin fluttered her wings slightly, and nodded to her fans. "Don't worry, it's nice and cool in here! At least, cooler than being outside." Pumpkin continued to talk for a while, Felicia doing her best to tune her out, instead turning to look at the window. It was open- only slightly, but maybe enough to squeeze through. Sure, from there she'd be out on a small awning, and have to figure out how to get down from there, but it'd be a start. On the other hand, Pumpkin might stop her the second she tried.
Speaking of Pumpkin, Felicia turned around and her eyes widened as she saw her newest tenant....
