The village hidden in the leaves, known as Konoha.

"The village hidden in the leaves" is what it meant. But the village that cared for him called itself Konohagakure, or "Konoha" for short.

It was a time of uncertainty and war for the village. At first they mostly ignored this stranger wandering through their woods, as he was clearly lost. They did keep a watchful eye on him though.

Several days had past before they took action. He had stumbled into a forest area sacred to a specific clan, and he was killing the flying bugs that flew around him. It just so happened that it was a rare species anywhere else and it really upset the ninja who was cultivating their population, so they acted quickly and attempted to kill the trespasser.

This is where your story begins.

You notice the now-familiar stiffness in the air indicating time has stopped. This means only one thing, your life is in danger.

Normally the causes are pretty obvious. It's strange to you that here would be a dangerous area unless there was a lethal bug or similarly crawling thing.

You look around for a good minute. You're eyes carefully scanning the area for something deadly within the immediate proximity.

You didn't always get a warning from far away, especially if you got very close to something before it decided to attack you. If you walked into the fangs of a venomous snake, you'd feel awfully foolish while you died.

After you are certain that there isn't anything within your immediate surroundings, you begin to crane your head to the sides, slowly and carefully, you didn't want to loose the danger by moving to quick before you even knew where it came from.

After surveying your surroundings to the best of your abilities without moving your feet, you look up. And although you are surprised and confused about what you're seeing...
