Chapter 2
by gunde
So, which setting will it be?
Post-apocalyptic Earth
In the many years that have passed since the Great Disaster, Human civilization has deteriorated back into an agrarian state, with the only elements of modern technology being the ones harvested from the ruins of the once proud cities, or what is used in the few remaining outposts of science.
Few have much knowledge about how life was before the Great Disaster, or why it happened.
And even fewer have any interest in finding the answers to these questions, instead settling for simply surviving in the harsh world that has emerged through the Great Disaster.
It is a world of nomads and farmers, who seek to protect themselves from mutated horrors, greedy marauders and power-thirsting warlords.
One of those who seek to find out why the Great Disaster struck the human race is Druuna, who spent her childhood rummaging through old books which contained tales of how the world looked before it.
These books aroused her curiousness, and so she left her agrarian home behind her, stepping out into the world in the quest for knowledge.
In the months that has passed since she first left her home, Druuna has learnt to use her body and her wits to stay alive, and has begun to dress in a way that highlights her gorgeous physical attributes.
Druuna stood upon the hill and looked at the landscape that surrounded her.
To her north, the direction from which she had travelled, lay a vast forest, a forest which she had simply crossed through, deciding to make her way through it before considering whether or not she was to search through it more closely, hoping to find a bunker from the days before the Great Disaster or something similar.
To the west lay the sea, it vast blue mass of water producing a soothing glimmer as the sun shined down upon it.
Directly to the south lay the ruins of a large city, a place where Druuna might come upon some artefacts from the Old Days, or maybe stumble into a small society of merchants and scavengers. The city could also contain several dangers however, and so she had to watch out if she headed that way.
To her east a mass of low hills was gathered, another place where one could find bunkers and similar remains, but also a place where marauders and mutants could be roaming.
As she stood there; dressed in a low-cut white top, a skimpy white thong (her red one was tucked into her satchel), a pair of white stockings that stretched from just below her silky buttocks to the end of her shins, a pair of running shoes, a belt made out of canvas with several small bags hanging from it and a satchel containing the rest of her clothes and a few water-filled bottles, Druuna considered which direction to travel in.
Where does she decide to go?
