In your mind, you found this whole thing kind of strange way to get to know a heroine: an invitation to see her powers up close, but during a battle, of all things. First Black Canary, and now Vixen? Well, it would be better than a catfight between these two. You don't want Supergirl hurting this woman too badly, even if she can defend herself. Besides, she called you out by saying your character's weak. You take a deep breath, and attempt to show more confidence. "Alright. You're on." She just walks by, winking at you, heading for a sparring ring.

"You demon," Kara mused. "If she doesn't make you a pancake by going 'elephant' on you, I'll give you a little... pick-me-up later." You eyed her and retorted,

"You already sound like I'm going to lose." You were going to show her that no man, woman, or any creature was going to stop you. You stand opposite Mari in the ring, putting up your dukes. The two of you stare each other down, and after 7 seconds, you invite her in. "After you." She smirks, touching her fox-shaped necklace and summoned what looked like the spirit of a cheetah, then she starts dashing at you so fast. You were taken aback for a second, but you remembered a trick to speed: use it against them. So you tried tripping her up, but while she did stumble out, she did a roundhouse kick to throw you off. But it pushed you back, instead. She sharpened her claws and wildly slashing at you, and you could swear you heard a jungle cat roaring all the while. But while you were dodging, you felt your throat warm considerably more so than ever. You groan and start coughing when Mari finally clawed you out of the ring. You lay there, and Kara flew to your side.

"Shadow! Are you OK?" She slowly reaches her hands to you, but you sit up, rubbing your throat that felt like a red chili pepper inside.

"I..." you rasp before clearing your throat, which hurt some to do. "I'm alright." You then push yourself to stand up, clearing your throat again, albeit loudly. "So, where were we?"

"Seeing my connection to animals up close," Vixen replied smugly. The very warm sensation still radiated within your throat, though you don't why it would hurt, but you can still fight. She tried a different tactic: touching her necklace again and channeling a bull elephant's spirit. She and it charged at you at the same time for only half a second, then it was just her. The sensation split your focus, and she was about to ram into you, but you improvised and vaulted over like playing leapfrog. "Ribbet!" She glared back at you, getting less amused as her animal instincts started to overlap her thinking a bit and slashed wildly at you again. Luckily, you blocked and dodged every blow.

"Hey, Vix. Go easy on him," Kara called. "He's not food, y'know." With her attacks failing, Mari gave a Two Foot Kick to your stomach, pushing you back. She used her necklace to make a Cricket appear between you and her, jumping high like one, too. And in mid-air, while you were blinded by the ceiling light, she channeled the elephant again and came down hard on you! She exerted her boot and knee deeply upon your stomach.

"Vixen..." you croaked. "Get off me." But she wouldn't budge. Instead, she glared at you with her clawed hand level with her head, looking like she was gonna scratch you again. It hurt to take a breath, but you repeated, "Get off!" The sensation started getting a bit hotter and the pain had you yell, "I... said... Get... OFF...!" And you let out a great blast of sonic ripples, exactly like Black Canary's cry! The sound waves threw Mari off and far from you against the mat. Supergirl flew over and helped Vixen up, then you.

"Shad... How'd you do that?" she asked. A bit hoarsely but loudly enough, all you could give to her was 'I'm not sure...'
