Enter the Pyramid.

You think over all your options, which are honestly few and very bleak to begin with, staying outside ensures you a cold, exposed night in an unfamiliar jungle filled, apperntly with storybook creatures. On the other hand their is the promise of shelter right before you in the form of a stone pyramid, however every story and horror movie said it was a bad idea to go in. Your eyes make a path up to the sun sinking ever lower, if you did not go inside you would have an hour, maybe an hour and a half before the darkness would overtake the island, that was no where near enought time to start a fire, let alone build a shelter. You gulp and start a slow pace forward as you realize that you really don't have any other choice than to enter the giant structure before you, you go slow as you cross the opening, constantly scanning the area for trouble but never spotting any. You keep this slow, safe pace up and before you know it the entrance to the pyramid is right before.

You clam your heart and start your first few steps inside, wondering if horror movie victims had the same train of thought as you're having right now. When you are but a few feet away from the door you hear a heavy grinding sound, you freeze in place as you try to make out what it is, listening you can tell its coming from behind you. You turn to watch as the entrance is slowly closed by a sinking slab, your heart races in panic as you run toward the door and pound on it trying to get it open. It would seem you are stuck in the dark, that is until around you everywhere torches suddenly ignite, lighting up the inside of the ancient structure.

You use the light todesperately look for a out, or to get the door back open, however you do not find any. There is only one path, it slants downward into the very earth its self, no doubt the home to some hive of dark creatures, you gulp turn back and look one last time at the closed entrance. With a sigh and a heavy heart you start to follow the only path foward, the walk is all well lit, however what worries you is how the path stays at a constant downward slope, how deep could this place even go? It does not take long for you to lose count of how many twist and turns the path starts to add, the only thing that remains constant is that you are going deeper.

You fear that you might fall to the core of the planet, in some sort of weird Vernes like plot twist, your brain pleads out please no dinosaurs. However soon the path levels out, only going straight ahead, no more sinking into the earth, and finally some hope in your heart, you pick up your pace and hurry forward. Soon in the distance you can make out a chamber, your brain tells you it could be dangerous but you want this adventure over, so you run full speed ahead, the room growing closer and closer. Your heart beats with both fear and anticipation as you enter into the chamber, only for it to sink as you notice its only room that splits into three new paths. Your start to curse your luck and your fate till you notices the words cafved into the walls around. Your no liguinst but you swear every language is scribbled on the walls, even hiroglyphs and cuneiform, this discovery boggles your mind as you search for english.

You find it scrawled under what appears to be old english, to the left of latin and above what you guess is acient Roman. You start to read, There is no way back, Foward you must go. Three paths lie before, three gifts to take. Like the paths you may only take one. The left belongs to the mighty sea and the beast that it comands, to the right belongs the sands and its mighty keeper. Last is the center, a true lord of the sky and its relm. Each path has its on virture and price, the waves hold new experinces at the cost of being suffocated forever. The sands hold love untold, but your mind must first find the way. Lastly the center holds power incarnate if you can manage to control it. You finish reading and look at the paths very unaware of which to choose and dreading your near future.
