Meet his parents

You swallow your fears and agree to meet his parents. Hudson, of course, is ecstatic.He gushes about his fathers, telling you stories about when he was a child and how he was sure that they were going to love you the moment their eyes landed on you. You don't hold out as much hope, simply praying that they approved of you enough to not actively try to sabotage your relationship.

You meet them on a Saturday, one of the few days you have off from work. They're an older couple, maybe about ten or eleven years older than your father, and you're surprised how open they are to you from the moment you walk in. They immediately hug you, going on and on about how glad they were to meet you and how Hudson never stops talking about you. Hudson rubs the back of his head and sheepishly smile at you. He's clearly embarrassed about the entire situation, but you're thrilled. This is already going much better then you expected.

The four of you sit around the kitchen table, sipping on the tea that they made in preparation of your arrival. The younger of the two men, Casey, focuses more on you then his husband or his son. He's kind and understanding, drawing you out of your shell. He tells you stories about when he was pregnant with Hudson and his two elder brothers, Ashton and Vance. His husband, Nolan, is silent. But you can tell that it's because he's listening to Casey, affection clearly in his eyes. It's obvious he's still in love with Casey after all these years and you hope that Hudson will look at you the same way when the two of you get older.

Eventually things draw to a close, Hudson's parents calling it a night. Hudson walks you home and kisses your hand when you arrive to your apartment building. You reach out as he starts to turn to leave. "Wait," you say, butterflies in your stomach, "I... I'm really glad tonight went well. And...and I really want to... take things a step farther. I want you."
