Sewing

Today the class is going to learn about sewing.

Mr. Clark walks into the class. As usual, the 34-year old Home Ec teacher looks very pretty, wearing a white blouse, flower-print miniskirt, pantyhose, and 3-inch heels. His light brown hair is done up in a bun, and he's wearing an appropriate amount of make-up, earrings, and a necklace.

"Hello, class," he says, smiling his painted lips. "As you know, today we'll be learning about sewing."

All the girls groan. And some of the boys glare at them for it.

"Girls, don't be like that," Mr. Clark says. "Sewing is a very important skill to have. And it might come in handy for the upcoming Homecoming dance. Besides, you don't want to spend your whole life wearing clothing full of holes and rips, do you?" the teacher asks the girls.

A lot of the girls just shrug their shoulders. One girl, named Pamela, says "I don't care. And if I have a really big problem, I just get my dad to do it. That's why dads exist, right?"

"Pamela," Mr. Clark says, becoming stern suddenly. "You can't always rely on your father. Eventually, you'll be out of your house and on your own. You need to know this stuff."

Pamela shrugs. "Then I'll just have to find a husband quick and have him do all this stuff for me instead."

The teacher scoffs. "You girls just want us men to do everything for you, don't you?"

Pamela, and a lot of the other girls, smile. "Yeah."

"Well, life doesn't work that way, missy," Mr. Clark says. "Men aren't your servants. Especially your father and your future husband."

Pamela rolls her eyes.

Mr. Clark pauses, takes a breath, then turns his attention to the rest of the class. "Now, if maybe we could start the lesson? Since you're all going to be practicing, we're going to be using a piece of cloth instead of an article of clothing. Now, pair up. One boy and one girl to each sewing machine."

"I pick you, Jane," you say, smiling.

"I guess I'll pick you, then, John," Jane says, smiling back. She still thinks this sewing stuff is dumb, but if she has to do it with anyone, she'd rather do it with you.
