"You know when I came back from the kitchen," Gary said, "And I saw Pete fucking your mom up the ass?"

Bernie nodded. "Yeah."

"I just couldn't stop thinking, you know, how many people he's been up now," Gary said. "He goes off on this cruise, and now he's done like six people up the butt this week. Including his mom and dad. Including my dad."

Bernie smiled. "Jealous?"

"Not jealous, no," Gary said. "But..."

"You wish it was you?" Bernie said. Her face went blank.

"I dunno," Gary said. "I mean. I've got you. And that's what's most important."

Bernie squeezed his hand. She smiled. "You've got Peter too, till he and Sandy take off for Europe."

"Yeah. Guess I better get on it before his ass is on a plane," Gary said.

Bernie smiled and shook her head. She and Gary laughed together.

Bernie took a deep breath and searched Gary's face. "So what did you want to ask?"
