Devastating News! Urgent Mission!

You are standing in Hokages office. You are standing next to Sakura and the two of you are in front of Kakashi. Next to you guys is Asuma and Ino and then Guy and TenTen. Sakura sticks her tongue out at Ino and TenTen, teasing them because she is next to you and they aren't. TenTen glares at Sakura and Ino mutters, "Big forehead bitch".

The Hokage clears his throat, bring attention to back to him.

"Kakashi, Asuma, Guy, are theses the students you wish to send?", He asks.

The Hokage then looks at you and sighs, "Kakashi I told you not to bring John"

"Lord Hokage, I believe he has a right to know what is going on", Kakashi says.

"What's going on? I thought we were getting a mission?", you think to yourself.

"I trust your judgement Kakashi, this will be the retrieval squad", Hokage says.

"Yesterday I sent a team on a mission to investigate strange ear piercing sounds reported to be coming from a forest that is miles away from our village. I thought it was just an animal and believed it would quite a simple mission. But, they haven't returned yet. I worry that we underestimate this mission and that the ninjas I sent may be injured or worse", The Hokage explains.

"Kakashi will be leading the mission. But TenTen, seeing how you have been a Genin for a year now, I want you to be Kakashi's second in command", Hokage says.

TenTen nods her head and smirks, "I'll be sure to keep everyone in check".

Ino and Sakura glare daggers at her.

"Lord Hokage! I have to ask, why didn't you want me to go on the mission?", you ask.

Hokage sighs and shakes his head, "There's no easy way to say this John. The leader of the team I sent was your father, Satoru Doe".

Your eyes widen in shock, "M-My dad...... i-it's not possible".

(Flashback to Childhood)

Every single thing you know about Ninjustu, your father taught you. This day of training was a memory you could never forget.

You were on the ground, in your backyard, struggling to get back up. Your dad never went easy on you when it came to training. That was something that TenTen's mom always yelled at him for.

"Come on John! Is that all you got!", you father teased.

You got back up on your feet and your dad, Satoru, smirks, "There we go! I'd expect that much from my son!"

You ran at your dad and throw a punch at him. He easily caught the punch and throw you into the fence of your backyard. Your whole body was incredibly sore. You fall to ground and get on your hands and knees.

"Dang it, I still can't even land a single punch on you", you sigh.

Satoru walked over over to you and crouched in front of you, one of his hands is behind his back.

"John it's ok. You aren't even a Genin yet, so of course you can't hit me. But someday I think you'll surpass me in terms of power. I need you to know, that you make me so proud. Seeing you get up and try again each time makes me realizes how strong you are, John", Satoru said while smiling at you.

"Dad...", you said before smiling widely at him, "thanks Dad! I'll become a Jounin just like you one day!".

Your dad chuckled, "I can't wait for that to happen! Now how about a little treat!"

He brought the hand behind his back forward. In it was a Popsicle.

"Thanks Dad! You're the greatest!", you said.

(Flashback End)

All eyes are on you, everyone in the room is worried about while you are taking the news.

"John...", Sakura says.

You clench your fist and look up at the Hokage

"My Dad isn't dead. I know it. He's the strongest Ninja I know! The man I look up to wouldn't die so easily! I'll prove it to you all!", you yell.

Everyone's eyes widen as the Hokage smiles, "Well then, John, you and the team leave in two hours. I expect you to return with your father and his team alive".

"Trust me, all three members are alive. If my Dad is the leader it means they are fine. I have complete confidence in him", you say.

Sakura smiles at you softly, Ino stares at you with wide eyes and a blush on her face and TenTen smirks at you.

"Don't worry Dad. I'm coming to help you! As your son and fellow Leaf Ninja!", you think to yourself as you reach your hand up to your forehead and clutch your headband tightly.
