Date Night Begins! Eavesdropping Genin

Maka let's go of you and laughs, "Do you know how long I've been waiting for you to ask her out?"

You blush,"H-How long did you know I like her?"

"Probably longer than you did, John. Considering TenTen's had a crush on you since the day she met you", Maka chuckles.

"MOM!!!!! SHUT UP!!!", TenTen yells. She is standing at the door, cheeks red.

"Oh come on TenTen, I remember when you were little and would come home after playing with John. You were always talking about how cute and sweet he was.", Maka says in a teasing tone.

"MOM STOP!! NOT IN FRONT OF John!!!", TenTen says, running up to her mother and covering Maka's mouth with her hands.

You can't help but chuckle at TenTen and her mom. The two of them had always been close. But there's something off about this whole thing. You can't help but feel uneasy. The last time we felt this why was when Kakashi was spying on you. But the two of you had a deal. Kakashi won't break it. So what's going on?

"John, are those for me?", TenTen asks, snapping you back to reality. She is pointing to the flowers you are holding.

"Oh yeah! I remembered you used to like flower as a kid, so I figured you'd like it if I got you some", you says smiling at her.

"John, that's so sweet! To think you remember that! You must really be head over heels for me huh?", TenTen laughs with a blush on her face.

Maka smiles at the two you, "John?"

"Yes Miss Maka?", you say in response.

Maka puts her right hand on top of TenTen's head and gives you a thumbs up with her left hand, with a big grin on her face.

"Take of this one for me, okay? I need someone responsible like you to keep her out of trouble", Maka says.

"Mom, you can't just say something like that out of no where", TenTen groans.

"Miss Maka! I promise, that I'll protect TenTen no matter what! I'll always be there to help her! I've been saying this a lot lately, but I never break my word! It's my Ninja Way!", you say giving Maka a thumbs up.

TenTen blushes and smiles at you, "John..."

Maka nods, "Thought you'd say something like that, John. Well you two go have fun. Oh and TenTen. You better come home tonight or else you are dead!"

Maka walks back inside the house and closes the door.

"Geez, I hope she doesn't know about what happened last night", you say scratching the back of your head.

TenTen is looking at the ground, a blush covering her whole face, "John, did you really mean what you said back there? Always being there for me?"

"Of course TenTen! I'd do anything for you", you say smiling at her.

TenTen walks up and holds you hand, "I'm lucky to have someone like you".

"Come on Ive got the whole night planned out! You're gonna love it!", say as you start walking forward. But TenTen doesn't move.

"Everything okay TenTen?", you ask your girlfriend.

TenTen growls, "The two of you can't take a hint huh?! I thought I made it clear that I'm John's girlfriend!", she then throws shuriken with a small paper bomb attached to it at a bush.

The bomb explodes and shoots out of the bush, two eavesdropping Genin. To be exact, Sakura and Ino.

"See Sakura! I told you a hiding place like that was a stupid idea! We should have hid on top of a tree!", Ino yells.

"But we wouldn't be able to hear them from all the way up there Ino-Pig", Sakura yells back.

"So the two of you were eavesdropping on us!", TenTen yells at the two eavesdropping Genin.

You just stare at the three of them and sigh. Today has definitely been an interesting day to say the least.
