Getting back to civilization.

Garett informed the guys what happened after they left the main chamber, after which Jesse and Charlie told about their escape from the temple. “When I got smacked to the floor, the only thing I could see before I passed out was Alex disappearing inside that...that...monster.” Charlie said, thinking back to those painful memories. “When I got to again, I was surprised to see Jesse trying to wake me up.”. Then Jesse continued “Yeah, I heard later that you thought I was dead, but I’m glad Charlie’s earlier diagnosis of me was wrong. By the time I woke up there was nobody inside the chamber, apart from Charlie of course. I walked up to him to check if he was still with us and except some brushes and scratches he seemed to be ok.”.

Then Charlie took over again “When Jesse woke me up, we left the room, got some clothing and found the rope you guys secured to get up. By the time we left the temple, the sun was up and we made our way back here. We weren’t here long before you two arrived.”.

Garret walked to the back of the 4x4 and dropped the backpack inside the car. “This was one fucked up day. How will we ever be able to prove some kind of sex god arose and ingested the four girls that came with us on this trip?” he said, which was met with a moment of silence. After a while Charlie started speaking again. “I think we should first worry getting back to civilization and worry about those details later.” he proposed. Jesse agreed with him. “Let’s get in the car and leave this god forsaken place.” he said. Little did he know he couldn’t be more wrong about that.

They got into the car and Garett got behind the wheel. He fished with his hand under the floor cover and found the ignition key. He started the car, turned it around and drove back the way they came from. Charlie remembered that on their way here they passed a small village which had a general goods store with some clothing hanging outside. The guys decided they’d stop there to restock their food supply and buy some normal clothing.

Rolling over the village’s borders they could see a few houses, a church and what seems like an open area from afar. The group agreed they’d best park the car at the edge of the village and walk the last bit up the slope leading up into the village. So Garett parked the car and the foursome walked up to the village.

As they approached the village they couldn’t see anyone walk outside and from afar the village seemed empty. From the path they took they could see a house, the general store behind it and then another house behind that. To the left of the first house was another house and diagonally behind the first house they could see the small church tower.

When the walked the path on the right of the first house, towards the general store, they past the half open door of the house and they could hear peculiar sounds coming from inside. Jesse walked up to the door and yelled “Hello? Anybody home?” through the opening. Hearing no reply, Jesse slowly opened up the door and stepped inside. What he saw made his jaw hit the ground. When the others curiously followed suit, they too couldn’t believe their eyes.
