Chapter 5 by dangerslut dangerslut

We don't pay for another drink that night.

He's hot... I flirt.

Whatever Ben was being an ass. That was a shitty thing to say.

The tequila is going to my head. My mood is definitely changing.

"I've seen you in here." He doesn't seem to ever really be looking at me when he speaks. I guess that's fair. He's working. It does put me on edge though.

"We live right around the corner, way close. It's the purple house, the only one around. It's got like this big clock painted on the side for some reason. You can't miss it. You can walk there," Emma blurts out. Way to basically give a complete stranger our address. He can read my expression and laughs a bit, or maybe just exhales harder. I manage to get out,

"Yeah, we like the neighborhood," but Jack is halfway down the bar already. I feel kind of silly. I don't even like this guy, but I'm basically ignoring my friend to try to talk to him. I want to show him that I'm interesting.

Through the night there are a lot of questions like that. It makes me so mad, but I keep wanting to finish my thought.

Luckily as the crowd lulls, and Emma gets progressively spacier, Jack pay more attention to me, listening to almost everything I say.

After I finish the drink I'm working on...
