A rider and mount

Alice carefully pushed away another thick leaf, a blue haired spider crawling along it, and then she could see the source of the roars.

The mount was terrifying. The creature was a huge snake, covered in scales the size of Alice's hands, and with fangs that looked like swords. The head of the beast sported two horns, each one protectively situated above one of the serpent's red eyes. It was rearing up between the trees, lifting is rider high up into the air.

The rider was even more strange. A glistening frog man sat in a saddle on the back of the giant snake. Bulbous eyes, a wide mouth and dark green skin. It was the frog man making the rising sound! A rumbling below that blasted out of the rider's open mouth. He was naked except for a spear he carried in his left hand.

Even in the baking heat Alice felt a chill. There was no doubt in her mind at just how dangerous the rider and mount would be. A spear? A saddle? Both of these suggested more intelligence than she's expected.

All of a sudden both the towering snake and the shiny green warrior turned their heads to look straight at Alice! She'd been seen.

Reacting quickly, Alice turned and fled. She pushed back down the length of the river, knowing she'd been easy to follow along that, before picking a random section and diving off into the deadly forest.

The giant snakemount crashed after her. It was quick and slithered easily through the tightly packed trees.

Alice changed direction again, pushing her way through the forest. She was leaving a very easy path to follow but what else could she do?

The frog man gave chase, easily out pacing her on his mount and jumped off.

Alice was tackled from behind and above. The frog man shouldered into her and brought her crashing down.
