Hiccup and Astrid

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III and Astrid Hofferson were both staring at the stars. Hiccup was a naturally inquisitive soul, so of course he would spend his time looking up at the stars and wonder the mysteries of what these things were. Astrid was not one to star-gaze. She was a soldier, and she was dedicated to protecting her village from any fire-breathing monster that thought of coming into her home and stealing any of her family's food. She was just... um, "looking for dragons in the pretty sky". Yeah. "Looking for dragons."

As the village slept, the two teens saw a shining star that moved. Nothing special, but both seemed to notice that the light of the star started to get bigger. And bigger. Too big.

To their amazement, the star shot past the village overhead like a ball of fire, leaving a powerful smoke trail behind and a noticeable rumbling noise. Vikings snored as loudly as they shouted, so the likelihood of them waking up from the sound of a frickin' meteor racing past their windows is just as likely as a a bear waking mid-hibernation.

The meteor crashed somewhere where they both assumed was past somewhere at Raven Point. They both left their respective houses and ventured into the forest, wanting to see what was out there.
