How do you deal with the news you just heard?
Angrily
Your emotions are running rampant while you're alone in your dorm room. You live in a student residence where genders are separated by floors. Bedrooms consist of only a single bed with a small desk and chair. There is no private washroom as the general washroom is all shared on the same floor. This leads to many awkward moments when walking out to shower and finding a guy outside in the hall. Your room is rather neat and tidy, which surprises Layla for how sloppy and rash you act at times but you prefer to use as much of the small space you have as possible. You're putting on your last glove as you've suited up, dawning your Mountain Girl costume. Sure, living on the 9th floor you couldn't just walk out wearing it but luckily your window faces a forest where you could jump out safely without anyone noticing. Getting back inside wasn't as tricky as you would think though. Being blessed with having a forest, you've built up a little spot where you would hide a backpack with an extra change of clothes to change into and just walk back in through the front door. It's quite annoying when it rains and gets your bag wet but you gotta do what you gotta do.
You have the news channel streaming on your laptop, looking out for any movements from those weird aliens. Thinking back to the story from earlier tonight just makes your blood boil, the tears from that little girl will not be in vain as you swear to yourself to avenge her as well as protect the city you love. There doesn't seem to be any sightings or news about those alien invaders as you lean back on your chair, breathing a deep sigh. Sure it was good that nothing was happening, but you had a feeling they would eventually strike again and you always wanted to be a guard and ready for whenever it's going to happen.
From out of your window you see a flash of bright white light that catches you by surprise. It lights up the dark sky as you immediately rush towards your window. Looking out, you can see that strange looking spacecraft moving across the sky, in the direction of Acropolis Beach once again. 'They're here...' your blood starts to boil again as you clench your fist.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we've received numerous reports of a bright ship sailing through the sky heading towards Acropolis Beach at a quick pace." the familiar voice of news anchor Kristina Novak is heard. "The police is encouraging all citizens to remain indoors and stay out of the streets and the area around the beach. Please, for your own safety, stay awake from the beach." you hold the screen of your laptop before closing it. You're all ready for a fight and you surely think to yourself that the other superheroes and heroines are just as fired up as you are. You slide up, opening your window as you take a few steps back. With a running start you dive through head first with your arms out in front of you at a quick speed, using the branches and leaves as cover so that no one would notice someone jumping out of the window. You do two somersaults in the air before landing on your feet, doing a roll on the ground to stop your momentum. You start running through the forest in the direction of the beach as a streak of smoke left from the spacecraft points you in the right direction.
What's happening at the beach?

Perils of a Novice Superheroine
A generic superheroing setting drenched with sex and scandal
Acropolis City, the center of super-human and caped crusader activity in this particular world - with its own dizzying highs and lows, high-tech skylines and slums standing in stark, four-color contrast, it provided everything that a costumed megalomaniac or masked vigilante could ask for. In fact, as is usually the case where colorful masked characters are the norm, it has become something of an institution by this point. But although the mere existence of costumed heroes and villains no longer shocks people, these people - who, by their very nature, thrive on attention - keep finding new ways to stand out from the crowd and attract the eye. This last goal tends to get a lot of emphasis in the most simple, sexualized way possible. For reasons that the world's most brilliant scientists have yet to explain, latent super-abilities seem to manifest more often in women than men by a ratio of 3 to 1 or more. This is true even when the superpower isn't "natural"; paranormal artifacts fall into their hands, esoteric martial arts schools never seem to have a male heir, the technological prototypes they test always seem to be the ones that are most easily used or abused for good and evil. Unfortunately, the glory days of the past where citizens were happy to see any old masked do-gooder show up are over - in recent years, Acropolis City has established a ranking system of heroes where those who get high marks from the citizens and resolve incidents are rewarded with corporate sponsorships and (most coveted of all) seats at the prestigious League of Propriety. Those who intimidate the populace, cause excessive collateral damage, or simply don't excite anyone, garnering low rankings, get 'asked' to move to less prestigious cities. Few superheroes want to get stuck battling clans of villainous hillbillies and corrupt small-town sheriffs for the rest of their careers, so they're always eager to please the influential citizens of Acropolis City (judges, eminent scientists, first responders, and of course the all-important reporters). On the other side of the law, a similar dynamic predominates; only the most glamorous and charismatic costumed ne'er-do-wells can make it in this town. And so, the novice superheroines just learning the ways of battling for justice and order, without any team to back them up, always end up patrolling the skeeviest, most undesirable slums of the city and taking on the most thankless rescues. As if that weren't bad enough, most of them feel obliged to dress in ways that get more outlandish and revealing with every passing year while they fight the good fight and/or feed their craving for attention, depending on how you see the 'cape life'. As if that weren't troublesome enough, the superhuman mutations that make so many of these heroes' careers possible also result in greatly increased sexual sensitivity, particularly in females. The adventures and misadventures that these spandex-clad lady crusaders get into are often too hot to print for the kind of comics that their young admirers would read. Messy mistakes will be made, but you don't want to disappoint your readers, do you? So let the League know what kind of superheroine you are, your chosen name, powers, and appearance, and they'll send you out on your first patrols. Good luck.
