Chapter 12 by TheDespaxas TheDespaxas

Snake handling.

About what you expected.

Getting out of your quarters wearing your brand new uniform you tried to show up as much authority as you could muster, followed by two collared and demure (at least in appearance) slaves.

Getting used to the more sinister but surprisingly comfortable uniform would take some time. It was incredible that Stretton took enough time, money and risks to have enough uniforms made before launching his revolution that he had spares in your size that fit perfectly.

Your crew was still the living area connected to the bridge where you left them and you would have bet good odds that they didn't move from it while you where gone.

Ricardo was standing with his back to you in his massive suit of power armor and Major Sokoliakov rushed to meet you wearing an uniform similar to yours but for the fact that the Eagle on his insignia held a giant eye rather the wrench and hammer on yours or the swords you saw on soldiers. Both of them blocked the view from the rest of the room so you could not see it.

"Captain, I compiled the report you asked us on the readiness of the ship and the supplies on board. " Declared the spy as he looked you right in the eyes saluting you. He had a tablet that he handed to you. You didn't bother to read it but downloaded the file in your implant after making sure it was quarantined before running scans on it.

"Cut the crap Leonid! We don't have time for those games of yours." shouted Cyrus Jenks.

"Lieutenant Jenks, show a little respect in presence of our captain. " replied Sokoliakov, clearly bothered by someone calling him out so soon.

You pushed him aside to go look at what the rest of your crew was doing.

The Jenks Brothers were spit-roasting their **** and had the two other licking their asses. Ricardo was watching the scene while licking the long blade of his bayonet.

"The nerds that patched this tub gave him the report, it was ready when you arrived." Lieutenant Jenks informs you, apparently happy to prove that Sokoliakov is just a suck-up. "Under gunned, slow as fuck with the propulsion half blown, hyperdrive is toast. This doesn't matter, your tech toys are mostly here so you can do your job and we can return to a real assignment. There are a shitload of cunts fresh from life pods that we're missing on while we babysit you." Cyrus didn't even slow the pounding of his poor ****'s ass as he informed you how little he thought of his assignment.

"Bro, his darkie is hot. Can we fuck her?" Linus asked his brother, completely ignoring you even as he asks about your ****.

"No fuckhead, the Lord Admiral needs this geek, so he keeps his toys until he gets the job done." Cyrus replied and you take a deep breath determined to get some control over this crew; before you open your mouth Sokolakov steps in.

"While rude, the Lieutenant is right, the Lord Admiral wants this done ASAP, so we should go on with our task, we don't have a lot of time." The major turns to you. "Captain, how can we assist you?"

You checked how good the communications were and saw that the whole comm unit had been replaced with a very powerful one that had been taken from a carrier. The system had been designed to help coordinate fighter squadrons, and it extended well into the bridge, making the already small command center even more cramped.

"Major, I want you to used our comm array as a node and establish a network with as many AI cores as you can on other ships on the Fleet. Only secondary and redundant systems, they are at risk of failing. I'll go to the ship's guts to rig something to connect it with my quarters. I will break this nut open, I haven't found a code that could resist me yet." You hope your orders show the correct degree of enthusiasm and caution for the task at hand. You could have tried to cripple the ships by sending a surprise pulse into their cores, but you would have died soon after. With no way to flee without a working hyperdrive you couldn't hope to pull this out without any of your crew members taking harsh measures in retaliation.

"Failing? Oh of course Captain, you will use them as breakers as well as for the computing power. I will try to get them to connect spares too if they can rig them quickly enough." replied the Major, you couldn't tell if it was flattery or if he was truly impressed.

You had Diana follow you to help with the rigging and after a thought Lisa too. She had little useful knowledge of the systems but you could always use a pair of hands and to be honest you didn't dare leave her alone with the crew after Linus' remarks.

Getting your plan in action.
