Chapter 18 by hemi001 hemi001

What's next?

Why weren't you here?

“What have you got planned for us today, my husband?”

“Nothing specifically, have you anything that comes to mind?”

“Well husband how about that swim to the reef followed by some tanning down on the sand, we well, I, could do with a bit of color change.”

“Honey, you're perfect, but well if you want who am I to complain, however I need to give you a heads up, okay?”

And so my husband explained all about this morning with Riley, how he wanted to keep Riley off balance also that he suspected another wife being targeted by his partner. I told him Riley's partners first name was Chuck, and then I realised I hadn't told him about our meeting at the art gallery so I explained that meeting which my husband thought meant that because Chuck was partnering Riley then meant Chuck more than likely was just now in the process of finding a target wife. I grimaced a bit at the thought that there was another unaware holidaying wife that was being setup as a game toy for the pleasure of these two offensive characters, at risk was her married life and that of her husband or partner, her wider family, beliefs, values and self worth up against a simple seduction resulting in her infidelity. I said well that would be all for nothing if the target couple lived in an open marriage but he said that that was more likely be part of the rules of the game, no swingers, no swapping partners, and no open marriage couples it would defeat the purpose of the 'game'.

The heads up that my husband wanted to give me was his suspicion's that John Riley was going to up his game, come after me possibly a lot harder and more than likely not worry about him unless he was with me. He intended trying to find Chucks target wife's partner bring him and his wife into the loop, therefore wouldn't be around all the time today and told me to be both aware and wary, keep my phone at the ready and text him when and if Riley tried anything, also let him know where I was if and when I could.

Well my Wife and I went for that swim to the reef and back and realised it was a totally different scenario during the day with boats and small craft everywhere although they all seemed to be aware of us.

She went and changed into her new bikini and as the boys said last night, WOW, just WOW. I felt my lower bits respond to the view I whispered to her as I got up to leave, “Great I not only have to worry about Riley pawing you but any male over twelve and under eighty with a heartbeat!”

“Well buddy-boy there's a moral in there somewhere, don't be too long.”

My first visit was going to be to see my two friendly barkeeps at the pool-bar and as it turned out they were a big help, yes they knew Chuck well. Up and until day before yesterday he had held up the bar till closing time and generally had been a bit of a pain in the ass. Then yesterday he had been hanging around the pool but spent very little time in the bar. Instead he'd been seen with Mrs Patrice Johanson from Minnesota. Mrs Johanson and her husband Rodger were here on a ten day package deal and it appeared Mr Johanson had bought his golf clubs. The result was that Patrice spent a lot of time at the pool or beach and of course good old Chuck was there to help out.

I'd just about finished gathering the information when my phone rang, it was Andrew. Wanting to get as full a debrief as I could I suggested he meet me in the Coffee bar adjacent to the main entrance, but not before our two bar people were quite vocal in wanting to get involved even if it was just observation. So that's what was offered I didn't really want them involved in anything else it was just to much of a risk with their jobs, and that definitely would not be acceptable.

When Andrew arrived we had our debrief and we both got more up to date with what went on, Riley had given Andrew the slip once but local knowledge you just can't beat, Andrew found him in the second of the two bars that Andrew had checked in. Andrew said he seemed pretty dejected when he arrived back at the Hotel. Andrew also said he would go and see Rodger Johanson and try to give him a preliminary warning and suggest we all get together and formulate a plan, he knew staff at both of the the golf clubs at this end of the island and suspected that it would be there that Rodger would play not the course at the other end of the island. A quick ring to his first contact and a confirmation was there and they knew what hole he was presently playing and when he would be in for lunch so with no further delay Andrew set off. In an hour and a half we had things in motion, I pulled my phone out and realised I'd missed a couple of text's: chuck and target wife right here.

Then: help, riley here.

Then: where r u, hurry, riley agro.

Crap, I'd been so fixed on doing my own thing I'd not realised my texts were neither on vibrate or bloody ring.

I ran the last text was five minutes ago, I hoped she was still at the beach.

I didn't believe it! Chuck and his target walked down the sand and sat virtually sat down in front of me. because I had a sun hat and my big sunglasses on he never recognised me, didn't stop him looking actually stopping and leering at me before turning back at his prey he immediately put his arm up around her shoulders, although I noticed her body language suggested she was trying to move away from that arm, finally she lifted it enough and asked him to remove it, he did with out comment. I picked my phone up and texted my husband that they were here. Hmmm no reply. “Hullo you, catching some rays I see.”

Crap. Riley, how the hell did he recognise me. “I must say, nice bikini, bit different to your sport bikini.”

“Ahhh, John given your history, I'd rather you didn't sit next to me please.”

“Look, I'm sorry about our accident the other day, I apologise sincerely, but surely you can cut me some slack, it was totally my fault I know that but can't we be friendly about things.”

“I'm sorry John, I'm just weirded over the whole thing, so if you don't mind I preferred you went.”

'help, riley here.' Damn you husband, where are you!

“Now look I don't think you're being fair, I meant nothing at all, it was an accident, plain and simple you have no need to be afraid of me, I mean to cause you no harm, can't we just be friends. I mean lets not allow one small incident harm a totally innocent relationship.”

“Like I said John, please just go.”

“Actually I think I'm within my rights to stay right here, I wouldn't hurt a fly, you'll see. Am I not a suitable distance from you?”

“You're right John, you are entitled to stay here. Excuse me but I need to go.”

I got up picked up my towel, thew on my robe and put my flip-flops on, picked up my phone and began to walk away, “Wait! You're just gonna walk away like that, not going to let me make it up to you?”

“Sorry no I'm going, have a happy day.”

“Well your bad luck lady.”

“Yeah, I'm sure.”

“What did you mean by that?”

'where r u, hurry, riley agro.' Where the goddamn are you.

“What are you asking me, why I agreed with your comment?”

“It was the cynical way you said it woman. .... besides who were you texting?”

“Oh, that's definitely something you're not getting an answer too, now I'm just going, if you'll excuse me.”

“Oh, come on, look can't I get us a coffee say, sit down and work this out, whaddaya say hun?”

“No I don't think that would be a good idea, I'm just gonna go.”

“Wait, straight up okay, I have been a dick and I'm sorry, I'm begging you please just let me make it up to you, this isn't who I am normally,it was just that well, you distract me to absolute confusion with your beauty, I'm sorry but I'm enraptured with you, really I know I've not dealt with this very well at all so if you've got half a heart please let me apologise profusely for my indiscretion's, please.”

“Look apology accepted, but I'm still going and Mr Riley please stay away from me.”

“That's it then, I'm so sorry I don't measure up to your lofty standards, I'm just a normal person that makes mistakes, for that I'm sorry, I really am, look don't go, I'll be going. I'm sorry I blanketed your day in such a bad vibe, it was never my intention's ....... at all. Have a great life, your highness.”

And with that he turned and strode off, he was good alright, knew all the buttons to push, a true conman I could see that, it was just that last bit was .... I turned as my husband walked up, so what and why did I say to him what I said? “Where the FUCK WERE YOU!”
