Realm of immortals

Once I had regained my balance I took a look around and gasped as I was standing on glass above what seemed to be the Earth. "What is this?" I cried, hoping somebody would answer me.

"Oh! Already?" said a booming voice.

"To think the mortals found it so easily!" came a high pitched squeak.

"Where are you!" I shouted. Hopefully the voices would tell me more about the situation I was in.

"Who and what we are does not concern you," I was answered with a cold whisper. "You found the ticket so just be grateful. You have arrived at the realm of the immortals."

"What does that mean?" I answered back, feeling more relaxed as if I were in a dream.

"It means that out of the seven billion or so people on Earth, you were lucky enough to be chosen by us to visit us."

"And a visit from you means?" I asked hoping for an explanation.

"Nobody leaves the realm of immortals empty handed Adam." So they knew my name. Must be a dream. "For example we know about your tragic life. You've had to suffer in silence and no one ever seemed to understand your pain. You've never got the result that you wanted. We've come up with a little something which will help you to turn your life around. You will be ignored no longer. I bestow you the power of wishes."

"The power of wishes?" I asked.

"Yes. The power of wishes. You may wish for a person to do something and they will comply. These wishes can be spoken aloud or can simply be a thought in your mind."

"Are you serious?" I said in disbelief.

"Very. However there is some rules that you need to understand. All your wishes will be directly granted by me. You do not need to know me by name. As you can imagine, my time is precious so I can't monitor all of your words and thoughts constantly to grant all your wishes. To avoid me wasting so much time I insist that you say the words 'I wish' before you state your wish. This will be extremely helpful as I just have to look out for when you say those words. Alright Adam Wilkinson, I think you have overstayed your welcome."

In an instant I was back in Walmart.
