Chapter 28 by reaper13

Who wins the election?

Eve

The election starts badly. One of James’s first claims is that due to the white girl Wednesdays 170 female students got accidentally impregnated. 150 of them being white girls, each of them carrying non-white babies. Outrage explodes over this and Eve is about to lose support from female students across all demographics.
Luckily Michael understood that in order for his favorite candidate to win, The Mandatory Diversity Committee has to provide free contraception to all students participating in future white girl Wednesdays. This is helpful to win back support for her across all the students, not only the girls.

Then there are also the ‘white for whites’. It turns out they are a splinter group among the oppose side which doesn’t answer to James. An extremely racist group, no less. In private James says he has no love for them, but he publically never denounces them.
To make matters worse, they proceed with more of their propaganda.
The next poster they spread across the university is one with a white girl on the left side, her clothes tattered and skin dirty with brown paint. On the right side there is a white girl, clean and unsoiled, holding her arms in front of her in the shape of an X. Between the two girls there is an awful caption to be read.

“Be pure, stay white. Don’t get fooled to ‘go black’. No room for race traitors.”

Of course, Eve is not without some propaganda of her own. Before the end of last year’s term, she and Michael had already expected this year’s student council election to be a difficult one. During summer break Michael had been working on some propaganda of his own, which he is now spreading around the school.

The first is a poster with a black guy and a white girl.

“I met my boyfriend on a white girl Wednesday. During summer break he came over to meet my parents. My dad was so proud of me of looking past his race and loving him for who he is, not what he is.”

The second is of a white guy with a black girl.

“Last year, we met at white girl Wednesday. Last year, we fell in love. Last year, we graduated. During summer break, I proposed, she said yes. We are to get married during this year’s fall. And yes, we’re expecting.”

The third and last poser is of a white and black girl. The same ones that provided a testimony at the end of last year. Freya and Tammy.

“I took my black girlfriend home and came out of the closet in front of my parents. It was scary, but they accepted both me and my lover. I have never felt so liberated before. Thank you, Mandatory Diversity Committee, thank you white girl Wednesday.”

These bits of propaganda are enough to swing the election in Eve’s favor and she becomes student council president for this school year. Under her watchful eye, diversity can continue.

How does Eve celebrate?
