Chapter 5
What does Link give her to wear?
A Zora Tunic
Link pulled out a blue tunic and handed it to her. "If you change into this, you'll be able to breathe underwater."
"Why, thank you, Link," she said, accepting the gift. "That's so thoughtful. Um, where can I change?"
Confusion flickered across his face, and then understanding. "Oh," he said, blushing.
He had thought that, well, he hadn't thought. He had just assumed that she would change in front of them and they could go swimming, but he realized that wouldn't work. Could he just turn around to give her some privacy? No, she would still be changing out in the open. They could use Epona as a privacy curtain! No, no they could not.
"There's an outcropping of rocks over there you could change behind," he said, pointing.
Zelda followed his finger, and her spirits sank. The outcropping was only a few feet high, and would only shield her from on direction. If anyone else showed up, or if she even stood up all the way, she would end up exposed. Still, Link had gone through a lot of trouble planing this date, buying a magical tunic for her to wear and bringing her here, so she was not going to ruin it just because she was a little shy.
"That should work," she said, forcing a smile. "Remember, no peeking!"
Link nodded solemnly and turned in the direction opposite from where Zelda would soon be taking her clothes off. He sat down and began playing Saria's Song on his ocarina, partially to reassure Zelda of his position so she would know that he wasn't sneaking around to spy on her, but mostly because the song allowed him to talk to his old friend no matter where they were, and he desperately needed Saria's advice on girls.
Meanwhile behind her privacy rocks, Zelda looked over her shoulder for the thirteenth time to make sure that no one could see her, and she finally began removing her gown. It was impossible to put on without assistance and nearly so to take off, but she was flexible enough to reach all the awkwardly located buttons, and it slipped off of her. Her shoes, leggings, and petticoats came off more easily, and was soon out in the open wearing nothing but a pair of panties.
She paused for a moment, relishing the adrenaline of her situation before pulling the Zora Tunic over her head. It fit her well, a bit too snugly, but it wasn't as though Link had her exact measurements before buying it for her. It was sleeveless, which she was fine with, but the end of the tunic didn't even come down mid thigh. When she went swimming, Link would almost certainly see her pink silk panties … assuming she wore them.
She bit back a devious smile before she began to consider the option. It would be embarrassing to forgo panties in such a short tunic, but also exciting, and she had wanted to make the most of their date.
Should she go commando?
