How do these testimonies influence the students opinion about the mandate?
An unexpected confrontation
Eve was walking to her class, when she heard heavy footsteps coming from behind. Somebody roughly grabbed her by her shoulder and **** her to turn around. She was now facing an infuriated Sylvie.
"Ok, THIS is going TOO FAR!"
The blond girl tried to escape her grip and replied "Listen, Sylvie, I'm fighting an important cause. If you can't stand it, maybe you should question your own prejudices, or maybe we should stop talking to each other. But for my part, if there's another diversity Wedenesday, I think I will attend it. Again."
Sylvie gave her an incredulous look, and Eve smiled with defiance before proudly adding "Yes, I went to it and I met a..."
"I don't care about your little fuck party." Sylvie interrupted her. "And I'm already in relationship with a cuban person. Half latino, half black."
"Why did I never met him?" Eve asked, surprised.
"Her." Sylvie corrected.
The eyes of the student body president widened and she opened and shut her mouth several times before her friends continued "And that's why. That's exactly why. You're all for 'diversity' and 'helping the minorities', and you have no problem with crushing all the causes who stand in the way of the one you chose to adopt by simply pretending they do not exist."
"That's not fair!" Eve protested. "It was just... unexpected! I would be happy to meet your girlf..."
"Then go to the hospital and ask room 328. She's called Lorena." Sylvie answered with still a vibrant hostility in her voice.
"What... Why is she in a hospital?"
"She met one of your minions!" she shouted. "A drunk white guy approached her yesterday in the evening in the parking lot. He bragged about being part of the Mandatory diversity comittee and said that they should totally get laid to promote diversity. When he failed to convince her that he was a nice guy, he became aggressive, accused her of being a racist and tried to **** himself upon her. By **** her." She now had tears forming in her eyes and wiped them away. Eve made a step to comfort her but Sylvie abruptly pushed her away. "Then a black guy named Jonathan appeared and the little prick fled shitting his pants like he just saw the devil. Jonathan is an actual nice guy, by the way. He drove Lorena to the hospital and offered to pay for her care. He might be a racist, though, since he doesn't support your mandate. He wants to save himself for marriage, you see, he's a devout catholic. But according to him, his god doesn't care if Lorena and I have sex with each other as long as it doesn't hurt anybody. Funny, no one from the Mandatory diversity comittee has been this kind to us in the past weeks."
"Sylvie, you can't consider the whole comittee guilty for the acts of one single person. He might not even be actually part of..."
"I don't care. I just told you a man tried to **** my girlfriend and all you think about is protecting the reputation of your folks. But from the beginning, you decided that all opposition should be labeled as racists and never even considered people opposing your little project of mandatory interracial sex might have problems with the mandatory part rather than the interracial sex part. Guess what, forcing people to have sex against their will is ****, no matter the reason, no matter wether or not you put a referendum to legitimize your movement. You're not different from the asshole who assaulted Lorena, you're just prettier."
Sylvie didn't wait for her answer and stormed out furiously, not looking back.
What's next?
Crossing the divide
Making new friends
Racial tensions have gotten the better of you and you take it upon yourself to do your part to increase relations between your race and others.
