Slinking away into the living room

Alex turned to the kitchen breathing a sigh as he looked over the chaotic kitchen. Scanning the cabinets and counters strewn with debris, his eyes landed on a small drop of Alistair's blood. The bite was small but there was a splattering on the floor. Must have had some nasty teeth, Alex thought.

Alex grabbed a thin cloth rag from the counter and began to clean up the droplets. As he knelt down he noticed the rivulet of slime trailing into the next room.

"Found you, ya little bastard" he murdered to himself.

The trail of goo leads out the door and to the left. Alex looks around for a weapon and grabs a frying pan from the drying rack. Stalking toward the door cautiously Alex pauses then says: "If the worm was poisonous the vet might need it alive, I should get a jar or something. Ehh, I'll just grab it with this rag."

Now resolute he began to move trough the door, curiously leering into the living room he followed the slime trail with his gaze. the worm was in sight, trying to creeping away along the smooth oak floor. The slime which coated it made the surface too slick and it struggled for footing.

"Ha, I have you now." Alex said half scornfully.

He reached down palming the cloth to trap the slick grey-green worm. The worm writhed as Alex reached toward it with the rag. It turned its head toward him snarling with its circular maw, no sound came from it aside from the slime's wet squelching, but the creature's hooked teeth flared. The tiny teeth could not have been longer than a few millimeters, but they looked sharp enough

"You don't look so tough" Alex said as he readied himself to lunge.

Then the worm's maw wriggled and it spat a narrow stream of the slick green slime at Alex's face. Alex scowled, the gunk clung to his skin, and he raised the rag to wipe resentfully. His vision began to blur even as he wiped the goo from his cheeks and lips.
