Out of Place

During the drive following the directions given, Jodie took in the sights of the environment that she almost forgotten.

True, it was at night, and during a rainstorm, but seeing the silhouette of treeline's streaming by on the side of the country road astounded Jodie. The car stopped at a bar at the edge of a town. It was lit up by neon signs, withstanding a weak **** by a swarm of bugs. Cigarette butts line the front entrance step.

"I don't know, Jodie. Maybe I misread the directions." Said Cole, wanting to be right. That changed as a girl peeks her head out of the front door and waves Jodie in.

"I guess I'll be seeing you later then." Cole smirked. "Have fun."

Though scared, like releasing a domesticated puppy into the company of wolves, Jodie exited Cole's car and watched it's tail lights fade in the mist.

Making a mad dash inside, Jodie saw that the bar was strewn with sporting, fish memorabilia a few arcade games line the left wall as a single jukebox sits by across the front door, playing some cliché country music.

Jodie kept panning the room, but could find no sign of the girl waving her in. Was she stood up, ditched?
