Head to the wishing well..

John had always heard stories of te wishing well from when he was a kid. For the most part they were stories of idiots wishing for better grades or to fuck Stephanie Carlson the head cheerleader.

But John had always chocked them up to urban legend. Though why people would wish to bang Stephanie boggles the mind. She was notoriously easy.

The Wishing Well was non-descript stone with a wooden arch over it and heavy rope tied to a bucket. Long ago the well was used as the only source of water in town, but with modernization the town's well water was diverted to reservoirs and people's homes so there was no need to grab a bucket from the unfiltered ground water.

John pulled out his lucky silver dollar that he had been holding for ages. "I wish I had a perfect date to the prom," He kissed it and then tossed it into the well.
