Your boys are in awe, Robert is in love

As you pull up to the house, you can see that Robert isn't home yet. It looks like Oliver, Vincent, and Maxwell will get to meet the baby first. You smile at your brother, who gives a gummy smile back. Your worry has disappeared and now you are sure he'll fit into the family just fine.

You get out of the car and walk up to the door. You can hear your boys inside along with Nico. From what you can hear, they're talking about the baby, though it's hard to understand what exactly they are saying.

You walk in and are immediately bombarded by little hands. You raise up the carseat so they don't accidently hurt their new brother/uncle. "Calm down little ones." you say, chuckling as Nico comes into view, "Go sit down and I'll show you the baby."

They cheer and run off to do as they are told. You approach Nico and gently pat his shoulder. "How about I show you the baby and you head home?" you suggest and he can only nod in agreement.

You lift the blanket covering Johnathan and he smiles at the little one. "He's going to be a heartbreaker, that's guaranteed." he says before bidding you goodbye. You wave and enter the living room as he leaves.

The boys are sitting on pins and needles and you can't bear to see them wait another moment. "Scooch over loves so I can sit between you and let you see the baby."

They hurry to move over and you sit between them before taking Johnathan out. They watch in stunned silence as you bring him up and hold him against your chest.

Vincent makes the first move, reaching out to touch him but making sure it's okay with you first. You smile and nod at his questioning look and he gently touches Johnathan's hand.

"Baby." Oliver mumbles as he watches his brother touch him.

You smile and nod. "His name is Johnathan." you say.

"John!" Maxwell says, unable to say the entire thing and you nod at that as well.

Soon they are all cooing over John, but are thrown off when he starts to cry. "Hold on loves. He's just hungry." you say, but they are already scurrying away to their toys.

You handle John first before comforting your sons, making sure they know that they didn't make the baby cry and that it's his way of talking until he's older. They listen and nod, though you're sure they aren't completely understanding, they know enough for the moment.

The five of you settle and they boys start to play with the baby, holding toys for him to reach for. It's a comfortable setting.

That comes to an end when Robert comes home. The boys rush over, eager to tell him about the baby even though they can't form long enough sentences. They get the point across and, soon enough, you are introducing your husband to his brother-in-law and adoptive son.

They simply stare at each other for a few moments before John gives him the same gummy smile he had given you earlier. Robert smiles back and gently kisses his forehead. "Welcome to the family little one." he whispers, holding him close.
