You asked Lili to look after the horses and then you went into your room to write the authorization letter. Sophie followed you and stood right next to you observing your work. She was giggling the whole time as if she was visibly amused about something.

After you finish your letter you could stand the curiosity no longer, "Sophie, please don't tease me. Tell me what's on your mind."

"Garrick, I think you are a honorable man to try to take all the blame for our past affairs. Do you really like me this much to be willing to part with this." she smiled pointing at the parchment in your hand.

The letter was of no use to you but seeing her interest you evaded her question, deciding to approach a different tact instead, "I think you are worth much more than this letter Sophie."

You stood up and give her a hug trying to kiss her lips but she pushed you away.

"We need to talk first Garrick. I think you are being cheated out of your most prized possession." Sophie said sternly.

"Why do you think so? I've told you before that I would be willing to part with much more than this letter for you." you replied.

"Garrick, I am a free woman and nether you nor your father are having any leverage over me. I will stay with you if you want me to but I surely won't, if you were to give this letter away to your father." she smiled mischievously, "Do you still remember my first lesson about wolves and useless sheeps and how I would hate it if prove yourself to be a sheep? I would rather follow your old man."

Still not understanding her indications you asked her directly, "What does this all have to do with the letter?"

Sophie moved close to you and nipped your ear, "Do you still remember the secret brothel you visited back in England? Give me the letter Garrick. I will make us rich."
