“Colleen wait, what’s wrong” Bernie cried as Gary started to his feet and raced after Colleen but when he got to the staff only door he was stopped by a kitchen hand.

“You can’t come in here read the sign”.

“But my friend’s in there and she’s upset.”

"Well she shouldn’t be and we will find her and get her out now don’t come in here and stay away from the door so we can use it".

Gary swore under his breath and turned to his friends “what can we do”

Bernie replied “We could go see the manager. Gary lets do that and Allison and you Lil stay here in case Colleen comes back”. Bernie led the way to the foyer and told the problem to the attendant who paged the manager. Some time later the manager arrived and Bernie told him the story again. Gary reflected on her Bernie's patient persistence and calmness which was having much better results then his attempt to push the door down. While the manager was organising some staff to search for Colleen Allison came down the steps from the main bar.

“That man Colleen knows from the band wants to talk to you, he says Colleen is ok.”

They quickly retraced their steps to where Lil was talking. Turning to her friends and brother she said, “This is Jim everyone he says he teaches Colleen's sister but that he only met Colleen today.”

Jim spoke softly “I’ve spoken to Colleen, she’s quite upset I think the best thing you can do is go home.” then looking at Bernie and Gary “By the way I don’t mean to be rude its nice to meet you two. I’m Jim Hawkins, a teacher and a replacement sax player. How are you?"

Gary introduced himself and Bernie as his girlfriend and wondered about Colleen but there was something about Jim that made Gary want to do what Jim wanted “must be because he’s a teacher I guess” he thought then aloud “You sure she’ll be alright?”

“Yes she needs to be alone and anyway the place is closing and the staff want to shut up for the night.”

Gary walked Bernie to their car and all four went back to Gary’s house. Gary turned to Bernie as they came inside “you were great there, you really were good with the manager and the people- so much better then I was. Wonder what’s the matter with Colleen?”

Bernie looked quietly at him “Well we all need to treat her right, she has feelings, she’s not a bit of filth just good for sex like Steve thought. I really like her; we talked a bit tonight. She really needs a good decent man to love her. Just like you love me”.

Gary was glad that the lights were dim in the living room for otherwise he was sure Bernie would see his cheeks burning. He changed the subject “Well we are here and you’re staying the night I think. Like a cuddle and a cup of coffee?” He sat down on the sofa and flushed again as he remembered this was the same sofa Colleen and he had used that afternoon. He called out to his sister to make coffee.

When Lil brought some in she said, “I’ll leave you two together” and went upstairs.

Gary and Bernie sat peacefully holidng hands chatting for a while until Gary said “Bernie let’s follow Lil upstairs, gentle lovemaking is just what I need to finish this night. Its not been the best with you going off to your friends girls only party, then Colleen running off. But you always make every night the best for me”

They walked upstairs to Gary’s room still holding hands. When they entered they sat together on Gary’s bed fully clothed holding each other in their arms for a long time before Gary gently removed Bernie’s top and then her skirt. Next it was Bernie's turn to undress Gary. They often kept this ritual- reminding them that their love was mutual. As Bernie took off Gary’s shirt he began to think about Colleen and for the first time felt remorse “Bernie is so good to me, she is such a lovely girl and sex with her is just golden, everything else is just junk and then there's Colleen I took advantage of her- perhaps she's just weak and upset like Bernie says”

Bernie stopped. “What’s wrong Gary?”

Gary bit his tongue. “nothing Bernie just thinking how wonderful you are. Come into bed its too cold to just stand here”.

The two slipped into bed lying on their sides their bodies pressed together. They heard muted giggles from Lil's room and smiled at each other in the moonlight.

"Bernie, you were wonderful introducing Lil to Alison" Gary kissed Bernie deeply.

"Yes but one day Lil will realise that she really is straight and want a man to love her instead of selfish idiots who **** her" replied Bernie while Gary stroked her breasts, her hair, her thighs, all her body while Bernie ran her fingers through his hair and with her other hand gently stroked his member.
