The white mare

Arriving at the market you turned to Niall, "I want to buy a horse for Miss Lili. I think a good mare will do as they are more tractable and better behaved. Please find me the next horse trader."

Niall affirmed your order and the three of you trotted through the market. Not many merchants were offering their goods at your market and overall activity was low. The shrewd merchant called Ronan noticed your interest and praised Lili with a few honeyed words, "Milady have indeed very good eyesight. This wonderful mare is called "Faith". It is vigorous and runs like the wind. It is fearless and it could even be used as a warhorse."

The merchant demanded the exorbitant sum of £20, equaling a four years salary of a skilled city worker. Even after an intense round of haggling he refused to budge lower than £15 but throwed in a fine set of leather saddlery. Niall conveyed to you subtly that he is against the deal. You should go for a cheaper horse as your treasury is empty and there were more important areas for you to spend on.
