My mum is calling

Suddenly my phone is ringing. I look up at the wall clock in Tiffanys room and it is already 20:12pm.

It has escaped my notice but I have already been with Tiffany for more than 7 hours. So many things happened today and I totally forgot about my mum.

"Can you please give me my bag? I think it is my mum. I have forgotten to call her." I request in panic.

"Calm down Lisa, I will talk to her." Tiffany says as she takes my schoolbag before Stacy could pass it to me. She holds a finger in front of her mouth signaling us to be quiet and picks up the phone activating the speaker function.

"Lisa? Where are you now? Do you know what time it is already?" My mum asks anxiously.

"Hello Mrs. Meier. I am Tiffany, Lisas friend. We were working on an important school project in biology today, shooting some movies. Lisa must have forgotten about the time as we were all excited and focused. She is in the bathroom now. I will tell her to call you back, ok?"

"Thank you Tiffany. It is already late I think it is better if I pick her up. Could you send me your address?"

"My boyfriend could drive her home. I think we are going to finish up here in around 10 minutes anyway."

There is an unpleasant quietness on my mums part...

"Your already have a boyfriend and... he has a drivers license?" My mum inquires warily and continues. "I don't think it is necessary to bother you guys. I am going to fetch her myself."

"Okay, no problem. I will send you my address right now. Should Lisa still call you back Mrs Meier?"

"No, I will leave right now. Just tell her to get ready. Thank you Tiffany. Bye."

Tiffany grins as she hangs up the phone. "Your mum is quite sharp Lisa. I think she muss feel that something is wrong. You better stop crying now and take a shower quickly if you don't want her to find out what happened."
