Begrudgingly continue your adventure.

Still fuming, you recall Magikarp. Okay, so the powerful new Pokémon you went above and beyond in paying for turned out to be anything but. There was nothing you could do but soldier on and try to make it to Cerulean City. At the very least, you had a full team of six Pokémon now, even if one of those wasn't good for anything beyond fishsticks.

"Hi, I'm looking for someone, he would've came down from the Trainer quarters not too long ago. Older guy, balding, flabby. Untrustworthy-looking. Seen anyone like that?" You say, approaching the nurse.

The young woman, her hair dyed pink and filling out her uniform nicely, shakes her head. She looks tired.

"I'm sorry, I can't exactly keep tabs on people coming and going." She explains. "We've been rushed off our feet. Dozens of rookie Trainers who think they can make it through Mt. Moon alone with a couple of Pokémon."

"Yeah, what a bunch of idiots." You scoff. "Anyway, thanks for all your help."

You make your way out of the Pokécenter. You're a little disappointed the nurse couldn't point you after the conman you just bedded. It woulda been... gratifying to hunt him down and show him just how powerful your other five Pokémon are.

Instead of pursuing your vengeance, however, you head into Mt. Moon. Surely you're tough enough to make it through the cave in one piece. After all, all you had to contend with was the wild Pokémon, right?

Stepping into the rocky cave, you take a good look around. Surprisingly, it's not as dark as you expected. At the very least, you can navigate and see where you're going without the need for a flashlight, or luminous Pokémon.

To your left, a man is excavating, chipping away at the rock with a pickaxe, accompanied by a pair of Geodudes. The bearded bloke has stripped off to his tank top, revealing a fit, muscular physique, glistening with sweat from his exertion. After your unfortunate encounter with the flabby conman, he could be the perfect chaser.

On the other hand, on the other side of the cavern, a lass, about your age, and wearing a slightly tattered uniform from one of the local schools, is wandering about. The blonde-haired teen looks lost, and tremendously out of her depth.
