An Alien monster!

Shannon trudged through a low, red sand valley. She was now stumbling repeatedly, nearing heat exhaustion. When the creature first passed over a nearby hilltop, she first thought it was a hallucination brought on by the heat. After all, what kind of real creature looked like this? It was a gelatinous blob, green and partially translucent. It rolled with no legs, sliding forward like a snail. It had a mess of long slimy tentacles coming from each side of it's giant, slime filled mouth. Above that on a stock was one large eye.

The thing seemed to see Shannon, and begin speeding down the hill towards her. for a moment she stood stupefied.

"Holy... that thing's real!" She realized eventually. Throwing aside her coat she took off running from the horrifying alien, all exhaustion and dehydration temporarily forgotten in her efforts to get away from this monstrosity!
