Look for them down the hall

They can't be too far away, and you are sure they are just waiting for you to join them.

Grabbing your room key you walk down the hallway toward the elevator. As you walk, you turn your head to make sure the girls aren't behind you, and that's why you didn't see the guy step out of his room until you crashed into him.

You look, surprised and apologetic, at the handsome young man in front of you. He appears to be your age and is holding a couple of red plastic cups filled with drink of some kind. You realize you have caused him to spill some of his drink over his shirt.

“I’m so sorry,” you stammer. “I should watch where I’m going!”

“Not a problem,” he responds, somewhat glassy-eyed. You wonder if one of those drinks was for someone else, or if he has been double-fisted drinking. “You look like you’re on a mission. Need any help?”

“I’m just trying to find my friends. We just got here and are looking for a party. Looks like they got started without me.”

“We’ve got a party going on in our room,” he responds. “We just had a couple of new gals show up. I wonder if it’s your friends. There’s also a more intimate gathering across the hall.” He lifts the partially-full cups in his hands. “I just came back to get refills, but it looks like most of that ended up on my shirt.”

“That’s my fault,” you admit. “I hope I didn’t ruin your shirt.”

The young man smiles at you with a glassy-eyed gaze. “It would take a lot less than that for you to get me out of my shirt. My name is Dan, by the way. Want to hang out?”
