Shrug It Off and Head On To School!

Adam didn't understand what was going on with his Mom, but if he didn't hurry up he was going to be late for second period.

Adam quickly made his way to school, and he was almost to his class when suddenly, "Hey Guys, I think we just found a loser who wants to go swim in some garbage." Adam quickly turned around to find himself surrounded by a group of Jocks. "Let's go Buddy," one of them said, as they started to shove Adam toward one of the garbage cans sitting in the hall.

"Wait..." Adam cried out, "No. Stop it." And suddenly the jocks stopped pushing him, and stood perfectly still, staring at Adam. "Come on guys, just leave me alone," Adam pleaded.

"He's right," one of the said, "we should leave him alone. Let's just go find someone else."

Adam stood, dumbfounded at what had just happened. First his Mom, now the Jocks. What was going on? Why were they all doing what he told them to do? It was as if he could...control their minds! Adam couldn't beleive it, it couldn't be true...could it? He had to find a way to test out his theory.

Adam tried to think of the best way to test his theory. But he wanted to make it so he wouldn't get in trouble if he was wrong. He had just about decided what he was going to do when suddenly, "Hey you, what are you doing out in the Hall?"

Adam turned around and found the principal walking towards him. "You're in big trouble if you don't have a Hall Pass." Adam was just about to stammer out an excuse, when he realized he could just use his mind control to get him out of trouble.

"But I don't need a Hall Pass," Adam exclaimed.

"You don't need a Hall Pass," the principal repeated.

"Now go sit in your office and think up a good punishment for yelling at me like that," said Adam.

"Ok..."

It was true, Adam could control minds, there's no other way the principal would have acted as he did, if he couldn't. But what was he supposed to use his new found powers for? Just then Heather walked out into the hall...
