Operation Sagittarius took place in 496M41. Our noble vessel encountered the two rogue trader ships already docked into the Space Station. Where lesser Commanders would have rushed into battle, Captain Crick had choosen the right time of attack with the unerring eye of the predator. Caught in the docking ports, both ships were easy prey and swiftly dispatched with merciless lance strikes from our starbord batteries.
As the rogue traders were accounted for, 25 Squadrons of our void fighter **** invaded the debris of ship fragments and weightless carcasses now orbiting the station, intent on neutralizing any defense batteries or fighter hangars. Men and women i had known for years, each accomplished veterans of the titanic Damocles Gulf void battles, each a master of the void fight. From the bridge we saw them off, Angels of the Martyrs Blood, drifting off like a swarm of angry wasps, autocannons flashing.
They were annihilated. Apparently, the heretics had reinforced the station with abominable Xenos Technology beaming off terrible las blasts at our men. We were floating outside the debris field, unable to scan the stations immediate surroundings, but the Vox Screams were enough to tell. After the vox went dead, Crick, with ruthless efficiency, ordered our lance batteries to open a corridor through the debris fields, nonregarding hitting our attack team's possible survivors.
Our entire void fighter corps, the Elite of Battlefleet Pacificus, punched through it.
With the new scan intelligence and long range torpedo strikes, we were able to render the station combat incapable. We lost a quarter of our fighters **** doing so. Captain Crick later received a Munitorum recommendation for 'Outstanding leadership in the face of acceptable losses'...
