Pikachu Pride

"Listen to me, you brainless idiot," Blue shouts out in frustration at the Pikachu.

Well that wasn't going to make them friends any faster, you think but you still had to strike while the moment was right.

"Eevee," you call out, "he's way off balance now! He can't dodge your Quick Attacks anymore! End it!"

Your Eevee barrels ahead and, true to your word, the prideful Pikachu, still pointedly ignoring Blue's cursing, makes an attempt to meet the charge. However, as worn down as it is, the Pikachu is a split second too slow and your Eevee slams into its side with full ****, knocking it to the ground and causing its eyes to become swirls as it lays still.

"Pikachu is unable to battle," Professor Oak called out, "The winner is Red!"

"Meh," Blue grumbled as he recalled the fainted Pokemon to its ball, "This Pikachu is too lame. Guess I'm gonna have to spend that week making him not lame."

You, meanwhile, leap up and down in celebration. "Good job, Charmy," you shout, "we're gonna make a great team!"

Charmy looks up at you in confusion at its name. "Oh," you say, rubbing the back of your head in embarrassment, "I just thought Charmy would be a good name for you. Do you like it?"

Charmy nods once and lets out a pleased sounding, "Vee."

As you return Charmy to its Pokeball (you'll have to check later to confirm Eevee's gender, you realize), Professor Oak comes over to slap you on the shoulder. "Excelent work, Red," he says, "You bonded with that Pokemon easily and you seemed to understand how to work together well. I'm quite a bit more comfortable in thinking you may be able to bring out its full potential after all."

Your smile only grows wider as you consider starting your journey right then and there. However, you look over at the pouting Blue... and then you wonder if perhaps you could get a "going away present" of your own, since it's been a while since you've had him in such a **** state.
