The next day

For probably the first time in your life, you have no trouble getting out of bed early. Today you’ll see Danielle again and, after school, you’ll go to her place. You put on your clothes and have breakfast. After brushing your teeth you pick up two bags and start your journey to school. You have one bag filled with stuff you need for school, the other is filled with clothes.

As usual, you’re early. Every time you hear someone entering the room, you look up and hope you’ll see Danielle. As your classmates enter the classroom one by one, you start to worry. Usually Danielle would have been in class already.

“She’s just late,” you think to yourself.

After a while your teacher enters the classroom. When she’s done unpacking, she starts the class. Time is going by very slowly and the lesson is boring. When the teacher gives you a break, you text Danielle.

“Where are you?”

Danielle doesn’t respond on time, so when the class resumes, Danielle hasn’t texted you back. You start worrying. What if she regrets her actions? You try to think of other reasons. Maybe she’s not feeling well, so she decided to stay at home.

When class finally ends, you take your phone from your pocket. You have received one text.
