Her nemesis Sabrina

As Leigh enters the restaurant, she makes eye contact with a girl awaiting a table. The blonde gives Leigh an icy smile, which Leigh returns. It's Sabrina, a girl she's known since they were dorm neighbors freshman year. Sabrina has, on occasion, been Leigh's friend, but more often they have been enemies.

Chris always stumbled over himself when Sabrina was around, and Sabrina made no secret of the fact that she enjoyed his fawning. Sabrina was always passive-aggressively criticizing Leigh's choices and tastes. She also managed to poach Leigh's first choice of adviser for her senior project. She was not someone Leigh wanted to see tonight.

"You look...nice," Sabrina says, barely containing her disdain as she looks Leigh up and down. "What's got you so dressed up?"

"I've got a d--er, I'm meeting someone. Just wanted to look good! What are you doing here?"

"Just eating with my friends, Leigh." Sabrina rolled her eyes. "Not stalking you or anything. Trust me, you're not that important."

Leigh would love to continue trading barbs with Sabrina, but she wants to make sure she isn't late. Alex isn't in the waiting area, so she might already have a table. Leigh tries to exit the conversation gracefully. "Well I'm going to find my...friend. Have a nice dinner."

"You too."

Leigh looks around the dining room and is about to give up when she sees Alex seated in a corner. She makes her way that direction, and as she gets closes, she notices out of the corner of her eye a party being sat by a waiter. It's Sabrina and her friends, and Sabrina is sitting on the far side of the table, facing Alex and Leigh.

"What is it?" Alex asks, noticing Leigh looking off to the side.
