Downtown

A moment later a blue orb surrounded him and for some blinks of an eye he was blinded by the blue light. Than the light died down and he found himself on a similar platform. Dim light filled the room and he spotted a exit on one wall. He left the room and found himself in a lobby of a building.

A security guard sat behind the reception and nodded towards him when he closed the door behind him. "Good evening, Mr. Ericsson. Not the best weather today. Do you need a umbrella?"

Marcus was confused for a moment but then he remembered how the mansion changed its appearance to fit his modern tastes. Apparently the magic also had made the security guard think that he was the master for a while. A moment later he realized how good it felt to call himself the master.

"Yes. I think that would be the best, ..."

"Bill, Sir. I‘m Bill. I can understand that it is difficult to remember everyone," the guard replied and handed Marcus a umbrella. "Anything else I can do for you?"

Marcus shook the head. "No, nothing at the moment. Have a nice evening."

The guard nodded and turned his attention back to his computer screen. Marcus opened the umbrella and stepped outside. It was still raining and in the distance he heard the grumbling sound of thunder. The building he just had left was located in Downtown and he only needed some moments to orientate himself.

Soon he reached the Vision center at the harbor. The big mall and leisure complex at the harbor promenade was one of Metropolis' most visited places. Especially when it rained like today.

It was just before eight and the mall area was still crowded with adults doing their after-work shopping and young people heading towards the cinemas or just sitting around. It was a bit too early for one of the clubs in the side wing of the center but all the shops and customers offered him the chance to test his powers for the first time deliberate.

Somehow he had the feeling that some old knowledge had awaken in him since he wore the ring on his hand. It was almost like the ring had stored some parts of the former users memories in it and passed them on him.

Interested he looked around for a first target to try the out the powers.
