Going to visit Patti

As I promised Millie, the next day I get in my car and follow her directions to Patti's office. It turns out it is located in a little strip mall, it is a store front, but the I can't really see inside as the windows are frosted, but the door has the correct number so I open it and step inside.

Inside I find what looks like a bit of a waiting area. There is a plain looking sofa, a few equally plain looking chairs, and magazines strewn across a table. There is a reception counter at the far end of the small waiting room, with a pretty plain looking female receptionist. I am wondering whether I am in the correct office, so I must be looking a bit confused, so the receptionist asks in a friendly tone: "Can I help you."

I walk up to the reception counter, lean on it lightly, and say: "Yes, I am not sure if I am in the right building, but I am here to see Patti."

The receptionist nods, then asks: "Do you have an appointment?"

"I am supposed to come at 2pm." I reply. Not sure if that qualifies as an appointment, I think to myself.

The receptionist looks down at the papers on her desk, flips through a few pages, then asks: "Are you Matt?"

"Yes" I reply.

"Please have a seat, Dr. Fernald will be with you shortly."

"Thank you." I say, and go sit on the sofa, thinking that this feels a bit weird to myself.
