Chapter 5

How does the group take to him?
He's in
Glennon proved to be a good person to chat to. Janno found out that he was a rogue with a few adventures under his small belt. That would help since Dalia was getting back into the business and Kassi was talented, but green.
It didn't take long for Janno to agree to allow the halfling rogue to join the band. Glennon even knew of a possible adventure sight: an abandoned tower a few days travel from Woodhaven. Janno thought it had intriguing possibilities.
He thought for a moment. The ranger Kassi and the druid Dalia could help guide their way through the forest to this place. Once there, Glennon could scout for traps and other hidden problems. He could handle some of the rough stuff, if they ran into monsters. Still, it might be a good idea to find another fighter or warrior to handle the rough stuff if it happens. As it stood, he was the lone frontline person while the rest were secondary in combat.
After accepting, the fighter left the room saying that he had to go change after working out. The way Dalia was wrinkling her nose somehow tipped him off to the idea. So he returned to his own room and left the two women to acquaint themselves with the halfling.
As he went back to his own room, Janno decided that he better ask around to see if there was a good enough fighter around in Woodhaven later in the day. If he could round up one, he didn't see any reason for the group to start adventuring toward the tower.
Meanwhile, Kassi apologized to Glennon for her laugh. "It was just ironic that you are called such. Don't mind me, I'm a ranger and I have traveled alone a bit as of late."
Glennon waved her off with smile. "Do not worry about it, fair lass," he said. "You are charming lady still and I could never stay mad at someone like you."
Kassi actually blushed at this and turned to Dalia to hide it from the halfing. The druid was looking at her with her usual calm expression.
"Perhaps when we are more acquianted with each other," Glennon went on. "I can explain the origin of why a halfling is a Longfellow."
Kassi smiled at this as did Dalia.
Glennon then asked, "Um, I'm a bit low in gold so I can't afford a room. I would steal some, but seeing as how I'm part of a group, well, I can't steal from either of you or the fighter. And if I get caught pickpocketing, well, that doesn't help out the group."
Kassi frowned, but Dalia spoke up. "I have an idea. Kassi can move into my room. It's large enough and has two beds. You can take Kassi's room."
"Many thanks, my lady," Glennon said. Obviously despite his short stature, he was a bit of a charmer. "Let us go exchange rooms, then perhaps we can go help the fighter, I believe Janno was his name, to recruit more members? He seems eager for a new adventure. I heard the last one turned out well only for him."
"It is possible some adventurers are ignoring him based on that fact," Dalia said.
Kassi looked at him questioning.
"Some believe he may be bad luck to be around," Glennon explained. "His comrades are instantly doomed. I personally don't believe any of that nonsense. He seems a good enough and loyal fellow."
The women agreed with that statement. Soon the conversation broke up. Kassi and Glennon went to the ranger's room. Kassi got her gear and quickly moved them to Dalia's room. Glennon then moved his possessions into the ranger's old room. By the time they were done, it was close to sunset and the sounds of dinner was wafting up from downstairs at the inn.
Do they still recruit or set off for adventure?
