He stopped in, saying he’d been out on a patrol, looking into some criminals. Which was true, mostly. She bitched him out a bit for going out without backup, after all, as she pointed out, she’d had to save him from Ultimamom and Ultimagirl mere hours earlier.

Instead of his usual flash of adolescent anger, Ultraboy simply smiled confidently and agreed that it was a mistake. That response confused the hell out of Ultramom, who was put on the defensive, when Ultraboy made his suggestion for what their next project should be.
