The elevator at the safe end of the corridor

There was only one real direction to go - something was back the way you had come and one direction was nearly blocked by fire. A burn now would risk infection, perhaps alien contaminated infection, and kill you.

You hurry down the corridor, leaving the moaning and observation room behind you, and rush towards the elevator.

Amazingly, the twin doors split open and slide away immediately when you press the summon button and so you quickly step inside.

Just as the doors close, giving you no more than a second of a glimpse, a strange hunchbacked form leaps our of the observation deck and into the hallway. With a ping the elevator begins to move, racing downwards, leaving the strange creature dozens of floors above you.

The elevator doesn't reach its destination. You'd passed a bunch of low level buttons in desperation but each one of those illuminated numbers represented floors much further down. It seems something had brought the lift to a premature end near the military and security sector of the station. Perhaps this was a good thing.

I takes quite a bit of strength to **** open the doors and it is awkward climbing up the halfway floors gap between the elevator and the actual floor but you're able to do so.

This section of the space station seems safer. There's no fires, just flashing red lights, but no one seems to be around either. You have a rough idea of where the security personal are supposed to be, where the cctv watch room is and even where the arsenal locker is. The question is; should you head in either of those directions in just call for help?
