Hide or run?
Stay hidden.
You motion to Eric to stay put and remain quiet. The pirates may overlook the bathroom, thinking there are probably no valuables there.
The sounds of your cabin being torn apart as the pirate's search for anything of value reaches you, going on for several minutes with the pirates laughing and gloating every time they find something. The thought of these brigands taking your personal possessions infuriates you, but you hold your anger in check lest they discover you.
The destructive sounds cease, possibly indicating the end of the pirate's search.
"Ain't nothin' else here," one of them says. "On to the next cabin!"
The others indicate their agreement.
You breathe a sigh of relief.
