The pipe exactly opposite happens to be the one you're facing. You bolt towards it, water splashing as you run. Behind you, the squish of approaching tentacle abruptly stops as you dash into the pipe.

Almost immediately, the pipe takes a downward angle, and with a sinking feeling, you realize this one won't lead you to the surface. You swear, realizing there is no way you can go back the way you came. You'll have to find another exit somewhere up ahead.

After a few more moments, you notice the air growing thick and humid, and a strange greenish glow from in front of you. A thick, cloying scent builds, and you feel a faint headache begin, but you continue on. Sweat beads on your forehead as the pipe flattens out, revealing a completely different scene before you.

The room is full of water, which laps inches below the end of the pipe, reflecting the strange greenish light from this chamber. It seems to come from equally strange growths on the walls and ceiling, which drip some kind of strange substance into the water. The room seems kind of hazy, said haze reaching into the end of the pipe. As you stand there, chest heaving, you can feel the hot, sticky air pressing against you. You can see two exits, a pipe on the far wall, and one on the right wall, from where you stand.

This room is kind of freaky in its' own way, but it beats the tentacles above. You really want out of this version of Hell, whatever it is, but you're not certain what exactly lies within this chamber...
