"Hey Mom, watcha doing?" "Cleaning the bathrooms." She calls back over her shoulder. "Why?" She pauses and Derek sees her head tilt slightly, like she's trying to remember. "I... just decided to give Bella a hand today." It's a flimsy excuse, anybody who knew your mother would never buy it, but to her it seems to justify her actions and she continues on her way.

Grinning, Derek almost skips down the stairs, savoring his power. It really is the little things, y'know? I can't imagine where this is leading but right now? I can make Mom lie to herself. He almost dances into the kitchen but falters as he notices Bella staring at him. "Hi Bella, what's up?" snagging a box of cookies from the shelf without missing a beat. She eyes you bemusedly, "Hello Derek, you look... happy. Was it something your mother did?" Derek chokes on his cookie, heart skipping a beat. How did she know?! "W-cough-why do you-cough-say that?"

"We were talking just a few minutes ago when she suddenly got up and left in the middle of a word, I thought maybe she went to you and that was why you were so happy... Derek are you alright?" Derek takes a moment to clear the rest of the cookie from his windpipe and nods, "Just fine. Went down the wrong pipe." Bella turns away with a slight shake of the head and Derek relaxes into a chair. He chuckles to himself, getting jumpy. Checking the app again he finds that he now has a few S-points to spend and a flashing "tag" button over an image of Bella. After a moment of moral dilemma he taps the tag button -whoops I twitched- and an "error" message pops up: Need more EXP to tag this person or fewer people in your tagged group. Hm... well, it looks like he had a choice to make: either stick with his mother, for now, or switch his tag. The jangle of keys from the front door indicate he doesn't have much time to choose.
