I quickly moved towards the exit, eager to leave this day behind go home and get some rest.
On my way out I had the bad idea to look up and lock eyes with one of the residents, chatting with a bunch of his "collegues". It was John of the 215 and as soon as he recognized me he began to point me out to his mates then shout "HEY KAITY SEE YOU TOMORROW, MY TV BROKE AGAIN!", which was followed by a general bust of laughter.
Cursing them under my breath I couldn't do more than lower my eyes and keep walking towards the exit with clenched fists.
Other than some teens leering at me, the bus ride went well and I was finally ready to go home and immediately jump on my bed.
Just a moment before touching the door knob, though, I heard another door open and Eddie calling my name.
"Hey Ash, back from work? You know It's time to pay the rent, right?"
I slowly turned around to answer him, but it was probably too fast since I caught him still checking my ass.
Without even trying to hide his smirk, he rose his eyes and quickly added "Hey why don't you come in a little? You must be tired, I want to offer you a drink or two"
"Thanks Eddie, but I real.."
"Oh and you know I have to check on my tenants every month, It will be only a couple of minutes cmon" He added without even letting me finish.
